HAPPY BIRTHDAY RIDGE!

Well...It has been an eventful few days! First we spontaneously decided to do a pre-birthday party Wednesday night because my dad had to leave for Boys Basketball State the next morning. I borrowed a Jumbo Cupcake pan and baked some cupcakes. Then I let the kids frost and decorate their own and even blow out a candle! They were super excited about it and Ridge was thrilled with ALL of his gifts!

The next day, Thursday the 4th, was his actual birthday. Pretty uneventful since everyone had to work and/or was away. So we got their bikes out of the shed, cleaned them up, attached Ridge's new horn, and headed to the church parking lot for some mud free bike riding. We had a great time! However...as the day progressed Ridge started showing some signs of getting sick. After a miserable night...I hauled him to the clinic Friday morning to discover that he as RSV. UGH...poor boy!

Our real birthday plans were to head up to Beaver Mt. for a fun filled night or dinner, cake, and skiing with mine and Cody's family. We were still going to carry out the plans despite Ridge's illness and he and I were just going to make a quick appearance. Fate would have it that things have to be interesting on days we celebrate b-days...For Saige's b-day last year the power was our all night and last night there was an avalanche in Logan Canyon delaying Cody's family. So Corkey, Mindie, Dylan and Jordyn drove around through Immigration Canyon and Sioux, Kristi and William waited until they were let through. So by this time I was no longer going to haul my kids up to Beaver so late, plus Saige ended up with a bad cold too. So later than planned, we eventually got together for dinner and dino cake at our home. It all worked out. Ridge was thrilled to have everyone here and loves his new toys! We appreciate everyone and their efforts and love for our family!

I am especially grateful for Ridge! He is such a trooper! Even when he is sick, he brings such delight! HAPPY BIRTHDAY RIDGE!
