We LOVE Hoogle Zoo!
A trip to the zoo is always on our list for the summer. This year Saige's class was going with the school for a field trip. So we loaded Saige on the bus and Ridge, Kaeda and I followed the bus down. Once we met up at the zoo we ate our lunch with the school and then set out on our own, bumping into friends and fun faces along the way. The train and carousel of course were a blast! We were fascinated by the bird show! We just strolled along, taking our time to enjoy each other and of course the animals. Some funny things: A bird popped on my hair, EWWW and the kids were intrigued that they saw an actual elephant pee and poo, EWWW! All of the animals were fascinating, but we especially enjoyed gazing at the baby turtle, the giraffes, all of the apes and monkeys and two male peacocks doing their mating dance. Ridge of course loved checking out the snakes and lizards, Kaeda was particularly excited about the monkeys and making her cutest monkey sound in the world, and Saige loved how pretty the peacocks feathers were and how they looked like hundreds of eyeballs. We had fun in the park too! Ridge picked out some mini animals to add to his collection of zoo animals. Saige picked out a glass peacock figurine and Kaeda a cuddle and growling small stuffed baby pink jaguar! We had a blast and left filling like we were on cloud nine!!! We can't wait to go back and look forward to the new Arctic section opening sometime this summer.
