Really Roughing It!

July 7-10 Scout Master Cody went with the scouts to camp at temple flat for the week. We did our best to keep busy as to not miss him too badly, though we did. We had the best time on Wednesday when we went to the beach in the morning with the Smith's and camped out in Grandpa/ma Williamson's backyard that night. My dad has really worked hard on his yard as always but has also totally refurbished the tree house for the kids. To get the whole story on the tree house check out Candice's blog (Yes she has updated). We had a hot dog roast, yummy watermelon and our favorite corn salsa and chips. We drug an extention chord and hooked up the portable DVD player and watched the Bee Movie to get the kids to settle down. Saige couldn't see well and kept creeping up in front of everyone, so we ended up not making it through the movie and all of us snuggled into our warm blankets on top of foam pads. It was Saige's and Ridge's first time sleeping in a tent. They both did great and slept completely through the night! Then just like clockwork they were up at 6:00 on the dot (one day I would love to sleep past 7 again, hasn't happend since having Saige). So we quietly tip toed into the house for the convenience of indoor plumbing, cereal and Grandma's warm soft bed and kisses. Then we played away the day in the tree house and on the slip and slide, anxiously awaiting daddy's return from camp. We had a fantastic time!

Sounds like a great little sleep over. My kind of roughing it, when you have indoor plumbing only a few yards away.
