I guess not or he wouldn't be in this position. So yesterday we had knee surgery number 5! It was cool to be able to watch all 10 minutes of it as it was happening and have Dr. Goble give Cody's dad and I the play-by-play. Goble is very efficient and quick and we are so so appreciative of him and his secretaries, Trisha and Becky, for doing the surgery and taking such good care of us as well as the awesome nurses!
Though not superhuman, Cody is one tough cookie though...except when he is first coming out of the anesthesia and he is quite emotional and affectionate. I LOVE that part of him getting surgeries! I like to think it is his true emotions that he is expressing and he can't inhibit them like he usually does when he is in that state. It is pretty tender. ANYWAY...the surgery was quick and relatively painless. He had a bucket handle tear on his meniscus which would get locked up in the joint and cause him terrible pain. So doctor Goble just trimmed it right off, leaving just a rim of it for some joint cushioning. Goble gave him a green light to do everything he wants to do in 3 weeks. Granted he will have more wear and tear and probably by age 50 he will start to have some issues with bone on bone and deteriorating cartilage but for now I guess he will live it up and is already making plans to snowboard this spring. ALSO, he is teaching school today because he insists he feels great and has no real pain. We are happy that everything went so well and we can move forward. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers!

So crazy. Yes I think Cody is a tough one for sure! I'm glad everything went so well! Nate told me it only took 10 min, that's wonderful! I love the pic of your kiddos in the swing, and what Saige said. She is a little sweetheart!
