Saige went through a phase of getting into everything! She was constantly finding a tube of some kind of lube and putting it on her, the wall, the doors, the sink, her dolls or mixing up a potion. Oh...it was driving me crazy! I had to put everything that I could up high and she would still find something. I had to start taking away one of her toys every time I caught her but the real fix was getting her some fake, kid makeup so she could put that all over her face, which seemed to cure her of putting everything else everywhere else. Phew! BUT I still find quite a few toys that have been taped/bandaged up. Silly Lady!
Ridge loves to draw, paint, etc. Whatever sister does really and "Do It By Myself!" He loves to draw big circles or ovals and will say, "Mom look at my big oval!" One day I decided I was brave enough to take a quick shower while the watched cartoons. I came out to a whole wall full of penciled circles and ovals all over my wall! He was pretty proud until he got in big trouble. I have tried to teach my kids that everything is just for paper not walls/flours/toys etc. But sometimes that still never quite gets in. Silly Boy!
We salvaged these dolls that use to be Caesy's. For weeks she couldn't part with them. They had to go everywhere and even sleep with her. She has played with them pretty cute but I don't think she has touched them in weeks since. She is pretty content to play with whatever but is mostly curious and creative and wanting to make something rather than just play with a toy. She keeps me on my toes!
By far Ridge's favorite toys are his bag of animals. He hauls those babies around everywhere and sets up his little animal village and makes all there cute little noises. Occasionally he will play with his bag of trucks, bag of dinosaurs and throwing balls of course but those animals are a favorite. He plays so cute!
Then on occasion, I wish more often, they want to pitch in and clean. This day they wiped down all my chairs. Wahoo! They are pretty good helpers! They both want to do it "By Myself" and their own way, which is challenging for me to just let them do. I guess that way they have fun and feel big. They also both want to spread their own peanut butter and jelly and pour their own drinks...Yikes! They need to learn somehow?
