Miss Berry Princess Contest & Raspberry Days

Saige and 16 beautiful little ladies entered the Miss Berry Contest on Wed, August 4th @ 7pm. They were all between the ages of 4-6 and so so cute all dressed up in party dresses and their hair all done! It was fun to have aunt Brookell MC the event and play Belle. It was fun to hear all of their cute little bio's and hear their little speeches. I really wish I could have been a fly on the wall to hear the interviews with the judges. I bet there were some priceless comments. Anyway, we were just excited to have Saige be part of the event but we were pleasantly surprised when she got 1st attendant AND Miss Photogenic! She was most excited about getting the huge bear lollipop that all the girls got, but she also loved the fluffy white bear named Beamer and two crowns and a princess sash. She made a beautiful little princess and we were very excited for her. We had a day or two of princess overload and I was afraid that a can of worms had been opened...but thankfully she is back to our normal little Saige.

Between the pageant, the parade and the fair we had a great time at Raspberry Days. We went to the fair the first day with Grandpa and Grandma. They got Ridge a cool dragon painting and Saige a beautiful butterfly. We love hanging out with them! The next day was the parade. Papa came over to watch Saige's appearance on the princess float and hang out with us. Papa got the kids 3 frogs named Tiana, Prince Navine and Shawn Bob. Sadly they only lasted a day or two before they went belly up but we had fun with them while they lasted. The last day of Raspberry Days we avoided the chaos and stayed at home. The best part of Raspberry Days was picking our own bowl full of raspberries off our own raspberry patch. We have sure enjoyed picking a bunch every morning to put on our cereal and nibble on. I am really surprised at how well my transplants have done and that some even gave berries the first year after their move to our back patch.
