Summer Hikes

As summer draws to a close...going on hikes as a family is one thing that I will miss. We all love being outdoors and I LOVE to watch the enjoyment the kids create. Makes me smile how excited Saige gets about seeing a picking flowers and making pretty bouquets for me and our table. Ridge keeps us entertained as he has to stop at nearly every rock to pick it up and see how far he can throw it and picks up sticks or grass to use as swords with accompanying sound effects. On this particular hike we went up Beaver Mt. to see how far up Gentle Ben we could get. Due to big pregnant lady with limited lung capacity and the sky downpour on us, which was actually pleasant, we didn't get too far. The kids were brave and the rain smelled so good and it was refreshing. On the way back the rain subsided and we were able to spend some time in the flowers and have a picnic. I cherish these times when we don't have any particular plans but just pick up and go do something together as a family!
